Many people like to dress to the nines on New Year’s Eve. From fancy parties to sparkly dinners, ringing in the new year in your best outfit can make the entire night that much more fun. But if you’re looking to go all out this year, don’t buy something new — rent instead. Here are nine services that’ll let you rent a designer outfit for your New Year’s Eve event while still sticking to a budget.

1. Style Lend — $12 and up

With the most budget-friendly price points we could find, Style Lend is great for renting designer clothes for New Year’s Eve. Whether it’s a dress, purse, jacket, jumpsuit or other fashionable accessory, Style Lend has Chanel, Derek Lam, Dolce and Gabbana, Kate Spade and other designers from which to choose. Even better, you’ll receive your rental within two to three days and get to keep it for seven days. You’ll only pay for it if you decide to keep it and wear it. Once you’re done, just ship it back in a prepaid envelope.

2. Poshare — $20 and up

For a night like New Year’s Eve when you really want to wow your guests or the partygoers that you’re ringing in the new year with, Poshare is a great option. Rent clothing from individual lenders that starts at just $20, plus accessories that start at just $8, and you’ll look stunning on a budget. The best part about Poshare is that you get to choose how long you rent the item for — either four, seven or 14 days. Once you’re done with the rental, ship it back using the return receipt that the lender sent with the item. It’s as simple as that! Designers include Adrianna Papell, Marchesa Notte, Badgley Mischka, Tahari and more.

3. Charlotte’s Closet — $20 and up

With styles for all ages, Charlotte’s Closet is an affordable website where you can rent items from designers like BB Dakota, BCBGeneration, Morgan & Company, French Connection, Nina Canacci and more. If a single rental isn’t enough for your New Year’s Eve events, sign up for an endless monthly membership that allows you to rent one or more formal items, plus three more casual outfits. Endless plans start at $49.95. For those looking to rent just for New Year’s Eve, you can keep your individual rental for up to five days before returning it. Dry cleaning and shipping are both included.

4. FashionPass — $29 and up

Enjoy multiple designer rentals with FashionPass, a monthly subscription service that comes with free shipping both ways, free insurance, free dry cleaning and more. FashionPass starts at just $29 per month for your first month before the price increases to $79 or more, depending on your plan. The basic plan, known as the Socialite, allows you to rent two clothing items and one accessory. You can also keep your items for the month or swap them out as often as you want. You literally have unlimited swaps with each plan. Designers include Flynn Skye, BARDOT, French Connection, BB Dakota and more.

5. Rent The Runway — $30 and up

The OG of designer rentals, Rent The Runway lets users rent dresses, jumpsuits, tops, bottoms and more for four days. You can rent two sizes, too, to ensure that the clothing fits. Designers include popular brand names like Rachel Zoe, Marchesa Notte, Badgley Mischka, Nicole Miller, Dress the Population and more. Rentals start at just $30 for the four-day period, with monthly subscriptions available for those who are thinking of renting designer clothes beyond New Year’s Eve.

6. Lending Luxury — $40 and up

Lending Luxury offers designer dress rentals for almost any occasion. Prices start around $40, and you can keep the item for five, 10 or 15 days at a time. Designers include Betsey Johnson, BCBG MaxAzria, French Connection and more. Shipping is based on your location, but it’s free when you return it. Dry cleaning is also included. The best part is that membership is free, so you only end up paying for the rental no matter what, and you can rent more than one dress at a time. If you fall in love with an item, you can buy it for a fraction of the original retail price, too.

7. Armarium — $50 and up

Go big or go home with designer rentals from Armarium. The price point here is slightly deceiving. You pay $50 for a styling fee for your rental options, which then goes toward the price of your rental. You have to pay the difference, though. And with designers like Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu, Roberto Cavalli and so many more, you’ll feel like your at the Oscars on New Year’s Eve — with the price point to prove it. The most affordable dress for rent that we saw was $200, or $150 after the $50 styling credit is applied to the price. You can enjoy the rental for up to four days before shipping it back for free. Armarium also has accessories like purses and jewelry for rent, so you’ll really look like you stepped off the runway.

8. The Mr. or Ms. Collection — $59 and up

Enjoy three rental items per month with the Mr. or Ms. Collection for just $59, and you’ll be able to say you’re wearing designers you love. The style profile for this rental website is very comprehensive, down to what colors you like, the length of dresses you prefer, your bra size and so much more. Shipping is free and you can upgrade to unlimited plans and enjoy more than one pack of clothing per month.

9. Le Tote — $79 per month

This monthly subscription box allows you to rent clothing from designers like Calvin Klein, Vince Camuto, Kate Spade, French Connection and more. For $79 per month, you can choose whether you want two boxes, each with three clothing and two accessory items, or one box with five clothing and three accessory items. After taking the style profile quiz, you’ll be asked if you want business, casual or dressy clothes. For New Year’s Eve, we suggest going with the latter. You’ll be able to then choose the items you want to rent in your box via the website, with its carefully curated options that match your profile. Once you’re done, just send back your tote and pick out the next one. If you want to keep any items, you can also purchase them for up to 50 percent off the regular retail price.

Renting is the new way to wear something truly unique on New Year’s Eve. Whatever website and outfit you choose, just know that you’ll still shine come midnight while you’re dancing the night away into the new year.
