Earning extra money on the side is always a great idea. It can help you pay down your debt, save more for your future and reach goals you’ve been striving toward for years. However, starting a side hustle can also take a lot of time and effort.

If you’re looking to earn extra cash fast and with ease, skip the blog and don’t even consider a lemonade stand. Instead, rent out items you already own for money. It’s easier than you think.

Your Car

Uber and Lyft are so popular these days that more and more people want to join in on the rideshare business. Unfortunately, not everyone has a vehicle to drive. This is where your car comes in.

Through companies like HyreCar and Getaround, you can rent out your vehicle to others so they can drive in a rideshare program. According to HyreCar, the average car owner earns up to $14,000 per year. Um, where do I sign up?!

All you have to do is get your car registered and inspected with Uber or Lyft, upload those documents, your car registration, your vehicle information and photos to the HyreCar website, and wait for someone to request your vehicle. Once your car is selected, coordinate a pickup time with the driver. You’ll earn 85 percent of your rental fee. When your car is handed off, the money will be processed and on its way to your account, so you’ll get your cash pretty fast, too.

Your Parking Spot

Have an extra parking spot, or is yours empty because your car’s being rented out? Why not rent out your parking spot for money, too?

With apps like SpotHero, you can list your parking spot and have others rent it when needed. All you have to do is sign up, give some information about your parking spot and wait for someone to select it. Then sit back, relax and watch the money roll in. Through SpotHero, you’ll earn 80 percent of your parking fee for hourly reservations and 85 percent for monthly ones.

Your Motorcycle

If you have a motorcycle just lying around the garage, dust it off and rent it out for money. Through Riders Share, you can list your bike for free and earn up to $150 per booking. Riders Share vets its renters to ensure only the safest riders rent your bike. It sounds almost too good to be true, but it really is that simple to earn extra cash with your motorcycle. Through Riders Share, you’ll earn 70 percent of your listing price.

Your Sports Equipment

You can rent out your bike, surfboard, snowboard, skis and more for money through the app Spinlister. According to the app’s site, you can earn up to $500 per month just by renting out your equipment. Bikes are even protected against damage and theft up to $10,000 so you can be sure yours will be safe. Just sign up, upload the proper documents and then list your items for free. Spinlister gets a 17.5 percent cut of what you list your rental for, so you earn 82.5 percent of your listing price.

Your Backyard

Airbnb may allow you to rent out your empty rooms, apartment or home, but Tentrr lets you rent out your backyard or land to campers looking for a place to pitch their tents or park their RVs. So if you live in one of the 12 states where Tentrr is currently operating and have about 10 acres or more of space, why not list your land and make some money?

Depending on the Tentrr experience you offer — either Signature or Backcountry — you can earn 80 or 90 percent of the nightly rate. The average nightly rate is about $135 for the Signature experience and about $35 for the Backcountry experience. It’s free to list your land as a Backcountry site, but there’s a one-time setup fee for a Signature site listing. As a Tentrr Campkeeper, you’ll also be covered with insurance from the company to help ensure the safety of your land.

Your Wardrobe

Through Style Lend, you can rent out your clothes, shoes and accessories to others and earn money seamlessly. Just sign up and fill in the details about your items, such as the designer, size and length of the rental, and then wait for a renter to request your pieces. You can earn 80 percent of the listing price and will be paid out through Pay Pal or Venmo.
