Here’s Proof That Americans Really Do Love Their Beer
It’s only fitting that we pay a little bit of attention to our favorite bubbly buddy on National Beer Day, right? According to a Beer Day survey conducted by NationalToday.com, which asked 1,000 Americans about their beer preferences, 35 percent of Americans drink more than five bottles of beer per week. Considering how many people order mixed drinks at the bar, we’re impressed by this statistical turnout.
The survey also found that 17 percent of Americans drink more than 10 bottles each week. You know, just some additional proof that Americans are keeping the beer industry going strong.
With big-name beer companies dominating a lot of the market, it makes sense that lagers are America’s favorite type of beer. Stouts, which are on the heavier side, are the least popular.
When it comes to states that love beer the most, Massachusetts comes in first place, followed by Missouri and Wisconsin. America’s top 10 beer-loving states are listed below. (The accompanying percentages signify how many people surveyed in each state love beer.)
1. Massachusetts: 51%
2. Missouri: 50%
3. Wisconsin: 49%
4. Oklahoma: 48%
5. Arizona: 47%
6. New Jersey: 46%
7. Virginia: 46%
