Hot sauce fans usually have a stance on Tabasco. If you’re an avid Tabasco user, you probably don’t go near other brands. If you’re a bit of a foodie, you might have an all-star lineup of sauces that you pair with your food. No matter what your stance is on the household hot sauce, you have to admit, it’s heavily ingrained in our culture.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Tabasco, the brand has created a Diamond Reserve Sauce. The shiny black and gold bottle is packaged up like a classy bottle of bubbly.

This Diamond Reserve Sauce, which is being presented as the “champagne of pepper sauce,” is made from a selection of the most robust Tabasco peppers on Avery Island. The peppers are mashed up with salt, aged anywhere up to fifteen years and then blended with sparkling white wine vinegar. Each bottle contains six fluid ounces of hot sauce and retails for $35.

The celebratory pepper sauce will have to pack a ton of complexity to be worth such a hefty price tag. A bottle of this Louisiana-based hot sauce can be purchased exclusively online at the Tabasco General Store.
