Sugar Fiends, Here’s The Most Popular Halloween Candy In Your State

Halloween is the best time of the year to pretend like cavities are a myth and meals can acceptably and entirely consist of sugar. During the weeks leading up to the spooky holiday, we keep our eyes peeled for all of the classic candies (as well as some newcomers) to add to our coveted stash.

This year, according to CandyStore.com, it’s expected that $2.6 billion will be spent on trick-or-treating. That’s a pretty solid dent in our wallets. Good thing leftover candy has an impressive shelf life — that is, if you don’t tackle it right away.

In analyzing 11 years of sales data, CandyStore.com identified the most popular Halloween candies in the United States for 2018. It looks like Skittles rank at the top, followed by M&Ms, Snickers, Reese’s Cups, Starburst, Candy Corn, Hot Tamales, Hershey’s, Tootsie Pops and Jolly Ranchers. It’s exciting to see Hot Tamales make the top 10 next to the rest of these classic favorites.
