This London Vending Machine Is Stocked With Free Beer For One Day Only
There’s nothing better than cracking open an ice-cold beer on a warm spring day. Except maybe grabbing a free ice-cold beer on a warm spring day. And Londoners, you’ve lucked out, because today is that bargain day (even if it’s not so balmy in England).
In North Greenwich, London, there’s a vending machine stocked with beer and it’ll cost you exactly nada to grab a pint. And even if you can’t make it to the machine, you can still get a free brew with a voucher on the Free Proper Beer website and cash it in at any of 200 pubs in London.
We don’t know which beer is being dispensed, you don’t get to know the identity of your pint until after you drink it. Clearly, some beer brand is making a statement. They want Londoners to know their brand is a “proper” beer.
A cheeky sign on the side of the vending machine reads, “If this goes viral, we’re broke.” And it looks like plenty of people are enjoying a drink on the mystery company’s dime, with some even posting cryptically on Twitter about the brand’s identity.
Got a load of colleagues to come to the pub with me for some #freeproperbeer. Turns out it’s the same thing I ordered yesterday lunch, so I loved it! A few people said “I didn’t know I liked this” though so worked for the brewer too. Fun marketing idea, thanks @freeproperbeer

So you might learn something new without ever spending a cent. Or perhaps you just want the free booze no matter the brand. We see you and we get it. It’s been a long week here in the States, too. We love a pint on a Thursday.

But you better hurry — the deal only lasts through the end of the day on April 26. But if you ask us, now seems like the perfect time for a pint across the pond. Cheers, mate!
