New York City’s Vegetarian Restaurants Top The Industry According To OpenTable
We’re living in a time when veggies wear all of the best hats. You have vegetables that can give you the texture of meat with all of the plant-based nutrients you need to keep your body healthy. Chefs around the globe are constantly innovating and inventing new techniques for treating vegetables like the main course they deserve to be.
The rise of vegetarian- and vegan-friendly cities makes it easy for people looking to live a healthier lifestyle to settle wherever they want without stressing about dining options.
OpenTable revealed the 50 Best Restaurants for Vegetarians in America and eleven of them are in New York City. There’s ABC Kitchen from the world-renowned chef Jean-George Vongerichten, a vegan chain called Blossom, the ambitious New York Times-approved vegan restaurant Candle 79.
For vegan French food, there’s Delice & Sarrasin. It’s no surprise that the pioneering vegetarian restaurant Dirt Candy by the James Beard award-winning chef Amanda Cohen made the list.
For those who are gluten-free, there’s Divya’s Kitchen and at the other end of the gluten spectrum, there’s the high-end vegan pizzeria called Double Zero. Also on the list isThe Little Beet Table, the Michelin-starred Nix and the innovative vegan spot XYST NYC from plant-based chef Matthew Kenney.
The majority of other top vegetarian restaurants around the country are in Oregon, California, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
