Ever since “Iron Chef” came into our living rooms in 2005, food became a competition. It seems like every other second a new cooking competition show comes alive, bringing all kinds of recipe inspiration, drama and anxiety in our lives in the best possible way. Starting this fall, Netflix is getting its own version of “Iron Chef” called “The Final Table,” which will debut on November 20.

After watching the trailer for the competition show, we can tell there’s going to be a ton of drama, sharp knives, harsh judges and a good amount of fear. With Bon Appetit’s editor-at-large Andrew Knowlton hosting, “The Final Table” will follow 12 teams of two chefs who cook the national dishes of countries like Brazil, England, Italy, France, India, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the United States. Top chefs from these different countries will be paired together to cook for a panel of celebrities, chefs and food critics from those different countries, testing just how well-rounded these chefs actually are.

The formal set and tense atmosphere of “The Final Table” remind us of “Iron Chef,” so be prepared to sit on the edge of your couch while you’re watching. This is pretty exciting news for any cord-cutting millennial who doesn’t get to watch the Food Network anymore due to lack of cable at home. You’ll have the intensity of a high-stakes competition show right on your lap. Bring on the heat.
