You might think you know your state, but it’s time to find out if your opinion is the popular one. Cozymeal, a nationwide provider of culinary experiences with over 200 chefs (including some Michelin-starred and celebrity chefs), conducted a study based on the average number of cooking experiences booked in each respective city. The results show which cuisines top the list.

When it comes to the most popular cuisines and cooking classes by city, the results aren’t what you’d think. We would’ve assumed New York would favor pizza or pasta and Portland might choose superfoods. Instead, New York favored seafood while Portland showed its love for Pad Thai.

Across the rest of the country, the results show that Tampa loves its superfoods, Boston can’t get enough tacos and Denver (ironically, a landlocked city) is all about the paella. Check out your city’s favorite cuisine on the map below:

If you’re wondering how legit these statistics are, Cozymeal has served 44,000 customers to date and there are 2,000 people taking Cozymeal cooking classes each month. These results are pretty surprising given the resources available in each of these major cities, but we’ll chalk it up to customers going out of their culinary comfort zones.
