Here are all the strongest, spookiest and most sinister cocktails to drink during Halloween this year. If you’re having a Halloween party, whip up a few of these for the crowd.

1. The Perla Negra From Slowly Shirley — New York, New York

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Santa Teresa 1796
  • .5 tsp. activated charcoal
  • 1 oz calamansi
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • .5 oz honey
  • .5 oz ginger
  • 1 oz arrack
  • 2 oz sorrel

Instructions

Add activated charcoal to shaker, followed by the rest of the ingredients, minus the sorrel. Shake with about three large ice cubes. Strain the cocktail over the crushed ice. Pack a lit votive candle into the crushed ice on top of the cocktail. Measure and pour the sorrel around the candle. If you can get your hands on a skull-shaped cocktail glass it’ll look even better.

2. The Grasshopper From Harding’s — New York, New York

Ingredients

  • 1 oz crème de menthe
  • .75 crème de cacao
  • 1.5 oz rum
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters
  • Toasted grasshoppers

Instructions

Mix all of the ingredients together and garnish with shaved chocolate and toasted grasshoppers.

3. The Sleepy Hollow From Dutch Fred’s — New York, New York

  • 2 oz Applejack
  • 1 oz pumpkin Puree
  • 1/2 oz Golden Falernum
  • 1/2 oz passion fruit puree
  • 1/2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz lime
  • 1/4 oz vanilla syrup
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar

Instructions

Mix all of the ingredients together in a shaker. Pour a bunch of cinnamon and sugar out onto a plate and combine them. Spread a thin layer of honey along the rim of a chilled glass and dip the glass into the cinnamon and sugar mixture for a sweet rim. Strain the cocktail into the glass and serve.
