Mrs. Weasley, Cocker Spaniel Mix, 6 Years Old

Cocker Spaniel Mix

Kate Fussner

Fun Fact: This spunky spaniel absolutely adores and will do anything for cheddar cheese. We’re game — unless she’s pairing it with wine.

Did you know? Cheese can be a great training tool for dogs, especially for puppies. But like humans, some dogs are also lactose intolerant. Pups with severe lactose intolerance may have adverse reactions to cheese, even in small quantities. So make sure to observe your dog closely for signs of an upset stomach when feeding him or her cheese for the first time. [American Kennel Club]

Holly, Lhasapoo, 2 Years Old (Rescue Dog)

Lhasapoo

Jennifer Houston

Fun Fact: This pretty pup was rescued from Pet ResQ in New Jersey.
Holly now lives in Los Angeles and is not interested in ever leaving — she’s a total beach babe.

Did you know? The Lhasapoo is a “designer dog breed.” It’s a mix between a Poodle and a Lhasa Apso. The Lhasapoo is gentle in nature and extremely playful, but these doggies can also become protective when they form a special bond with their human. [PetGuide]

Marcie, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, 4 Months Old

 Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Holly Burns

Fun Fact: Marcie the Corgi loves anything to do with ice. Icicles, ice cream, ice sculptures… she’s obsessed with them all.

Did you know? Dogs like eating ice particularly on hot summer days because eating ice and drinking ice water helps them avoid overheating by bringing their body temperatures down quickly. Pups don’t sweat — they can only cool down by panting or through their paw pads — so they often need to find external ways to cool down, like by munching on ice. [Rover]

“Ever consider what our dogs must think of us? I mean, here we come back from a grocery store with the most amazing haul, chicken, pork, half a cow. They must think we’re the greatest hunters on earth!”
— Anne Tyler
