Daily Fit 07/22/2019: Exercises That Can Lead To Injuries
Workout Tip Of The Day: It’s easy to get injured when performing certain exercises at the gym, especially if you do them with improper form. Here are a few to watch out for.
Exercises to watch out for.
Some staple exercises found in almost every fitness gurus Youtube videos might not be the safest. Nearly any exercise can lead to injury if performed with improper technique, but some workouts are easier to fumble. Bicycle crunches, lat pull-downs, bent-over rows, deadlifts and kettlebell swings more frequently lead to injuries than other exercises.
How to prevent injuries.
It’s best to swap out some of these exercises with safer alternatives — like performing a row laying face down on an exercise bench as opposed to hinging from the waist. Regardless of your workout routine, mobility and proper form are key in cutting back on risk of injury. Seeing a personal trainer can also help you perfect your positioning to reduce any risk and boost confidence at your next gym session. [CNN]
