Making the decision to go vegan can be one of the most empowering things you ever do in regards to your diet and your health. Your wallet, on the other hand, will probably suffer… unless you live near an Aldi grocery store, that is.

According to Store Brands, the popular supermarket chain launched its own vegan line of foods, and the prices are almost too reasonable to be true. Earth Grown, the name of the new private label, offers a variety of meat-free products that never contain animal-based foods like honey, eggs, dairy, gelatin and lanolin.

Some of the new noteworthy freezer and refrigerated products include veggie burgers, black bean burgers, chickenless patties, chickenless tenders, meatless meatballs and vegan mozzarella cheese. Each of these items is priced between $2.49 and $3.89. Seriously unreal.

The Plant Based Foods Association reports that the sales of plant-based foods increased by 8.1 percent in 2017 alone, which makes this a smart move for the grocer to lean into its consumers’ wants and needs. And by aiming for reasonable price points, it’s making this dietary lifestyle more accessible to people who have pondered the switch, but decided not to commit to it because they simply couldn’t afford it in the long-term scheme of things.

We don’t know about you, but we’re pumped to see Aldi join the ranks of Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Wegmans in supporting the plant-based dietary lifestyle. Every little bit helps!
