Talk about patriotic. Budweiser is taking American history to a boozy level with its newest lager. The beer giant has introduced the limited-edition Freedom Reserve Red Lager to its Reserve Collection. You’ll be able to get your hands on the brew through the end of September.

The light beer is inspired by a hand-written recipe that was discovered in George Washington’s military journal dating back to the French and Indian War.

The specialty lager, made Budweiser employees who are also proud veterans, is meant to celebrate our country’s history. Based on GW’s recipe, the red lager has an ABV of 5.4 percent. The president-inspired beer is brewed with toasted barley grains to give it a sweet aroma. You’ll taste a touch of hops and rich caramel malt with a smooth finish of molasses.

The Freedom Reserve Red Lager is sold in both vintage bottles and one-pint cans. For every case purchased, Budweiser is donating $1 to Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to military families.

Budweiser is also partnering with the alcohol delivery service Drizly to bring the Freedom Reserve Red Lager to thirsty customers across the country. You can use the code “Freedom” between May 1 and July 15 to save $5 on your first purchase.
