Glamp Among The Rolling Hills Of Scotland In This Shepherd’s Hut Airbnb

Scotland cabin Airbnb

Airbnb

Scotland is known for its picturesque landscape and rolling hills, so why not stay directly in the midst of all that nature when visiting the European country instead of being cooped up in a hotel? Glamping is a great way to do that without compromising on comfort, and this hut is situated in an oh-so-cozy corner of Scotland’s Ochil Hills mountain range.

Staying at the Airbnb will cost you $25 a night if you bring a travel buddy. If you want to invite additional guests, they’ll have to pitch their own tents on site. The hosts allow for up to two additional tents to be pitched on the property for an additional cost. Besides the double bed inside the shepherd’s hut, you’ll also find a wood-burning stove, a single ring gas cooker, silverware, crockery, fairy lights and drinking water. Guests also have access to a chemical toilet in a shed right outside of the hut. Although the shed doesn’t include a shower, guests are allowed to use the shower in the main farmhouse upon request.

There’s no electricity or WiFi in the tent, but that just adds to the cozy, off-the-grid feel of the place. Right outside of the hut, you’ll find a picnic table and a firepit — all you need to make delicious s’mores. If you grow tired of being surrounded by nothing but farmland and sheep, rest easy knowing that the hut is only a 15-minute drive to Perth, a happening Scottish city.

Amenities include:

  • One bedroom with one double bed
  • Wood burning stove
  • Fairy lights
  • Single ring gas cooker
  • Cooking essentials (i.e. pots, pans, silverware, plates and cups)
  • Drinking water
  • Chemical toilet
  • Access to shower
  • Firepit
  • Picnic table
  • Free parking on premises

Here’s how to make this dream vacation a reality:

Since this Airbnb is very secluded, there’s no available public transit to the hut. You’ll most likely want to rent a car once you get to Scotland. The closest airport to your dream destination is Scotland’s Edinburgh Airport, which is roughly a 40-minute drive from the cabin. You can fly directly to Edinburgh from some airports in the United States (John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City being one of them). Once you get to Edinburgh, you can rent a car or take a taxi for the remaining drive to your destination.
