1. R&R: Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Kick back, relax and treat yourself with a coconut oil hair mask this weekend. The oil adds a beautiful luster and shine to your hair that keeps it thick and hydrated in the toughest of conditions. Gently massage the mask throughout recently washed and brushed hair, and then wrap your hair in a towel or cap and wash it out upon waking the next morning. [Swirled]

2. Workout of the Week: Butt-Burning Squats

Get buns of steel in no time by adding Bulgarian split squats to your exercise routine. Stand on your left foot as you balance your right foot on a bench behind you. Lunge down until your left knee is at a 90-degree angle and your left thigh is parallel to the floor (with your knee tracking behind your toes). At the bottom of the movement, drive through the heel of your left leg to return to the starting position. Repeat the exercise eight to 12 times and then switch sides. [Swirled]

3. What to Watch: “Expedition Happiness”

A Berlin-based couple and their mountain pup set out on the road trip of a lifetime in search of true happiness. They convert an old American school bus into an impressive mobile home and travel throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, experiencing a plethora of ups and downs along the day. If you’ve been feeling at all unfulfilled, this documentary will help you regain much-needed perspective on what it really looks like to live the life you want. [Netflix]

The app lists all of the available trek options in your area with a photo, difficulty ranking, reviews from other hikers and the ability to save certain trails to your “wish list.” And once you get hiking, the app gives you a live map feed so you can make sure you stay on course the entire time. Happy adventuring! [Swirled]

Throw a dry towel into the dryer with your clothes to help them dry faster.

7. What to Eat: Spicy Apple Glazed Meatballs

8. What to Drink: Basil-Infused Blood Orange Cocktail

Say cheers to cooler days with a basil-infused blood orange cocktail. Combine 4 ounces of vodka with half an ounce of triple sec, 1 ounce of basil simple syrup, 8 ounces of blood orange juice and ice, and you have yourself a zesty, citrusy drink that screams, “Happy hour!”  [What’s Gaby Cooking]

9. Dream Destination: Puerto Rico

A year after the devastating Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico is ready to welcome back travelers. You can enjoy a beach vacation without facing too much of the hurricane damage, or you can go local and give your tourism dollars directly to the communities who can really use them. Better yet, you can volunteer on your vacay and help rebuild the island with your own hands. [Swirled]
