It’s the time of year where we all take a day to celebrate our moms (whether the mother figure in your life is biological, adopted or chosen). We’d like to suggest planning an adventure with your mom to commemorate all of the life adventures she’s helped you through. Here are seven of our favorite destinations to visit with your mom.
1. Florida Keys, Florida, U.S.

The chain of islands off the coast of Florida make a great tropical vacation without leaving the U.S. You can be outdoorsy and snorkel, boat or swim, or you can wander the boardwalks, window shop and sip on fruity cocktails.
2. Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K.

Edinburgh is filled with historical architecture, charming cafes and pubs. You and Mom can grab a bite or a pint before hitting up the famous Edinburgh Castle at the top of the hill.
3. Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.

New England is a great region for a spa getaway, but we like Providence for its laid-back, old-fashioned charm. It’s less busy than Boston, but still has seaside access.
4. Serengeti, Tanzania

If you want to go all out on an unforgettable expedition, you can’t get better than a safari through Tanzania’s Serengeti. See the animals you grew up adoring. They’ll still strike awe into you to see them in the wild.
5. Chicago, Illinois, U.S.

For moms who don’t live in the big city, we like Chicago as an approachable option. There are endless food options as well as amazing shopping along the Miracle Mile. And the theater is top-notch. (“Hamilton” plays here daily!)
6. Lisbon, Portugal

Cheaper and less well-known to Americans than Italian coastal cities, Lisbon offers quaint, colorful streets with easy beach access just outside town. The food is spectacular and the wine (brought from the nearby Duoro Valley) is superb.
7. Charleston, South Carolina, U.S.

Cobblestone streets and southern charm await in Charleston, where the seaside promenade and French Quarter have plenty of mom-friendly shops, boutiques and restaurants.
