You Can Take A Llama To Lunch On This Colorado Hiking Tour
This summer, you can finally achieve the ultimate picnic and break bread with a llama in Vail, Colorado.
Llama lovers, Paragon Guides combines hiking through the gorgeous Rocky Mountains with an animal adventure. They call it “Take a Llama to Lunch.” And that’s exactly what the tours entail.
Before you start envisioning a llama ride through the mountains, you should know that these are pack animals. They can carry up to 80 pounds of gear but not people (so don’t get any ideas if your feet start aching). Adorably, the gear for your hike includes a bright red checkered picnic blanket. Classic AF.
There are three llama lunches with various exciting hooks. You could do a half-day tour of the Arrowhead Ski Area on the Arrowhead Llama Lunch or a full-day trek along a local hiking trail on the Backcountry Llama Lunch. But our favorite prospect is the Wine and Cheese with Llamas tour. We really want to sip wine and munch on cheese while making some llama pals.
If you’re eager to explore with some llamas, prices vary for these tours. There’s a base fee of $415 (for the half-day tour) or $545 (for the full-day tour), and if you have more than two people, there’s an additional fee of around $80 per person. Those llama dreams don’t come cheap…
