This 3D Animal Latte Art Is Almost Too Cute To Drink
If you’ve ever wanted 3D puppy art on top of your cappuccino, you’re in luck. 3D coffee art is trending throughout Asia. You can find cuddly latte art at My Cofi, a creative cafe in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The latte art features a range of animals — from dogs to sloths to porcupines to all sorts of exotic creatures in between. To create these little masterpieces, the artists use coffee foam, food coloring and carob powder.
You’ll have to wait about 10 minutes for your drink once you place your order, and sadly, it might be cold by the time it gets to you. Customers can also come into the coffee shop with pet photos and ask the artists to create more personalized lattes.
While these 3D coffee drinks are pretty damn cute, they cost a lot more than than an average latte. My Cofi charges up to $23 per drink.
Daphe Tan, a Singapore-based artist, makes the 3D coffee art, and so does Japanese artist Kazuki Yamamoto, who does stop-motion animation to create little latte creatures.
Bottom line, you’re paying for a work of art that you’re going to drink, but hey, do it for the Insta. You’re guaranteed to rack up some serious likes when you have animals bouncing on top of your macchiatos.
