This Brilliant Winery Is Pairing Vino With Your Favorite Girl Scout Cookies

@allaroundfoodie

There’s a good chance you’ve heard the irresistible Girl Scout cookie sales pitch at some point in your life. (Seriously, you always end up buying at least one box no matter how strapped for cash you may be.) So just imagine how sold your adult self would be if wine was added to the mix.

Well, these wonderful little confections just got even more magical, thanks to The Winery at Bull Run, a Virginian winery not too far from Washington, D.C. It’s rekindling our childhood love for Girl Scout cookies by pairing them with a variety of wines from the vineyard. Yes, you read that right — a Girl Scout cookie wine tasting.

And we have to admit — the combination suggestions seem on point.

The Do-Si-Dos go well with the buttery and oaky Barrel Chardonnay, the Thin Mints pair perfectly with a spicy, peppery wine like the Cabernet Franc, the Samoas work best with the woody and fruity Fort, and the Tagalongs taste great with the Meritage blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Every Saturday and Sunday in February from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Winery At Bull Run hosts a Girl Scout Cookie Wine Tasting in the Barrel Room. You don’t need tickets for the event — just walk right in. It’s only $12 for the tasting, which includes five or six wine pairings.

Avoid the anticipation of waiting for your personal cookie order delivery and head over to the winery to indulge your inner Girl Scout. Or better yet — when your beloved treats finally do arrive, take a play from this winery’s book and host a cookie and wine pairing party of your own. Talk about a nostalgic crowd-pleaser.
