If you haven’t replaced your pillows in a while, they could be making you sick. According to research, the average pillow can contain more than a million fungal spores known for causing respiratory disorders like asthma. And the mites, fungi and bacteria feed off of our sweat and skin cells to grow. To keep the bad guys at bay, wash your pillows regularly and aim to replace them every six months. Brb, going to buy some new pillows. [Swirled]

6 Essential Gadgets That Could Help You Catch More Z’s

Life Hack Of The Day: Nail File Edition

This tip really nails it. Have you ever found yourself at work with a jagged fingernail and no file handy? Take a quick trip to the bathroom and lightly buff your nail along the grout in between the tiles. It’ll smooth out just enough so you won’t catch it on anything until you have a chance to fix it.

Health

You can get a full Pilates workout at home — no equipment needed! Start with ‘The Hundred’ — lie on the mat with your knees bent into your chest or your legs on the mat in line with your body. Pull your abs in and up, curl your head and shoulders off the floor and lower your chin close to your chest. Extend your bent knees out long (or lift your legs straight up to settle at eye level) and raise your arms up by your hips. Start inhaling and pumping your arms for five seconds and then exhale as you pump your arms for five more seconds. Repeat that pattern 10 times to complete the set. Food + Drink

Brussels sprouts are rich in nutrients and are unbelievably tasty when roasted. To offset the strong bitter taste, you can toss your Brussels sprouts with sweet caramelizing ingredients that’ll make you want to pop them like candy. Some of our favorite ways to sweeten up sprouts include maple syrup with a touch of red pepper flakes, sweet balsamic vinegar, coconut oil or —yum!— red wine. [Swirled]

Recipe Of The Day: A tender brisket is a wonderful centerpiece to your holiday table. Liberally salt the meat and sear it until it’s browned on all sides. Set aside, then mix together paprika, brown sugar, tomato paste, Tabasco, and Worcestershire sauce and coat the brisket. Add back to the pot and top with onions, garlic, bay leaf, water and cider vinegar. Bake in a 300-degree oven for 3 hours, flipping once after 1 ½ hours. Puree the cooking liquid and veggies (minus the bay leaf) and serve alongside the brisket. [Food 52]

A quick tip from yours truly: Frozen veggies roast as well as fresh ones if you follow a few simple steps. Drizzle them with olive oil and roast them in a 375-degree oven for about 20 minutes then crank the heat to 450-degrees for a few additional minutes to get those charred yummy bits. Season and enjoy!

The Changi Airport in Singapore has been called the world’s best airport and today they added one more must-see — the 130-foot-tall Rain Vortex — the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. This newly unveiled pre-security area is known as Jewel and also boasts a four-story tiered garden, more than 280 retail and dining outlets, a hotel and a multi-screen IMAX theater. Changi Airport already boasts large floral installations as well as several themed gardens — butterfly, sunflower and cactus. [CNBC]
