Yacht Week Is The Vacation Of Your Wildest Nautical Dreams

It’s the wildest sailing venture you probably never dreamed you could take. The Yacht Week is basically a party on the high seas — some of the most beautiful in the world.

You may have heard of this infamous week-long cabal of nautical travelers drinking champagne and perfecting their tans. But here are all the deets you need to know about Yacht Week.

It’s seven days on the boat, choosing from several destinations. The original yacht weeks are in Croatia and Greece, and most are located in Europe. The classic itinerary in Croatia starts in Trogir (with a boat party, of course, to help you get your sea legs), then goes to hot spots like Vis, Hvar and Split.

The Greecian route begins outside Athens (with a coastal bar bash), then heads out to the islands before returning to the coast for a regatta. It’s kinda half race, half party.

Wanna go extra wild? You can kick the OG Croatia trip up a notch on the Ultra Route. That starts in Split at the Ultra Europe Festival, then hits Hvar and Vis.

Do you like a healthy dose of hiking with your drinking? Yacht Week gets it. There’s a route in Sicily that takes things a little more chill. You start in the Aeolian islands (Salina, Panarea, Lipari and Vulcano) and hike volcanoes, jump in mud baths and, of course, swim in the sea.

It’s not a cheap vacation. You’re on a yacht, ya know? For two people to book a cabin, it’ll cost you $2,500. But you will be pampered. You have breakfast every day, an itinerary made for you, access to private events and a skipper who can sail you around. You’re also paying the price for those sinfully great Instagram photos you know you want to take on the boat. We see you, ‘grammer gals.

So if you wanna dance on a yacht with a bunch of other beautiful, young, probably tipsy travelers, this is your shot. Get it, your shot? Because you’ll probably be taking a whole bunch of shots during your week at sea… Bottoms up!
