When Amazon announced its plans to buy of Whole Foods, everyone was waiting patiently for prices to drop. Well, that time is Monday, August 28. You can expect a bunch of products to be marked down. It’s time to go grocery shopping.

Whole Foods said in a release on Thursday, August 24, that the prices of plenty of items will be significantly reduced. Products like World Trade bananas, organic avocados, organic large brown eggs, organic responsibly-farmed salmon and tilapia, organic baby kale and baby lettuce, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, creamy and crunchy almond butter, organic Gala, Fuji apples and more were listed as a few that will be cheaper as of Monday.

This is just the beginning of improvements Whole Foods and Amazon are planning to carry out together. The release states that Amazon Prime members will soon have their own rewards program at Whole Foods and that certain Whole Foods-exclusive private label products like 365 Everyday Value and Whole Paws are pairing up with Amazon Fresh, Prime Pantry and Prime Now.

“By working together with Amazon and integrating in several key areas, we can lower prices and double down on that mission and reach more people with Whole Foods Market’s high-quality, natural and organic food,” Whole Foods co-founder and CEO John Mackey said. “As part of our commitment to quality, we’ll continue to expand our efforts to support and promote local products and suppliers.”

If all goes as planned, consumers are getting a solid deal on this Whole Foods-Amazon deal. We’ll never say no to a price cut, that’s for sure.

Update:

Bloomberg reports that Amazon slashed Whole Foods prices as much as 43 percent for a wide range of products on Monday, August 28. Prices on items like Whole Trade organic bananas and organic rotisserie chickens are even lower than they were last week.
