You’ll Want To Fly To Thailand Just To See This Over-The-Top Gorgeous Temple
When you think of a temple, you probably imagine a place of serenity and peace, a place where you can surround yourself with energy and spirituality. Well, temples also make for great travel destinations, and we just found one that intends to bring you peace and take your breath away at the same time.
Wat Rong Khun, a temple in Chaing Rai, Thailand, looks like an ice palace from the outside. We’re honestly checking out flights to Thailand just to see this thing in person.
The temple, which has an all-white exterior, was designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a Thai artist, in 1997. Though an earthquake almost destroyed the temple in May 2017, the artist was encouraged to restore it. The temple is currently under construction on the inside until 2070 (insane, right?) but visitors can still walk around and take photos of the outside, which legit looks like Elsa’s castle.
The temple’s white façade symbolizes the purity of Buddha, which is the main focus of the holy building. Mirrors line the premises to symbolize Buddha’s wisdom and teachings while the murals portray the Buddhist cycle of life.
You’ll learn a lot about Buddhism while visiting this temple, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a place of worship more gorgeous. If you’d like to see it for yourself, come to Thailand and take in the beauty. And soak up all of the positive energy while you’re at it.
