Waffleshots Are The Most Adorable Food Trend

Once coffee in a cone came on the scene, we were sure we’d seen the best Instagrammable trend of the year. But one company has totally changed the game with waffleshots. The trend is the cutest way to sip your espresso or macchiato in style.
Zia Valentinala, an LA-based eco-friendly coffee shop owned by two sisters, has become the mecca for all things coffee and waffle.
Waffle cones aren’t exactly groundbreaking, and chocolate-dipped cones with coffee in them are also old news. What makes these cones so special is the variety of sizes and the dozen different flavors they come in like Nutella, cookies and cream and s’mores.
The waffleshots aren’t just chocolate-dipped either — they’re also stuffed with melty layers of goodness that go perfectly with coffee. The s’mores waffleshot, for example, is filled with a marshmallow layer that melts as the coffee is poured in.
Delish reports that the coffee brand Nespresso immediately took interest in the waffleshots concept and wanted to order 10,000 a month before the coffee shop had even taken off.
We’re pumped about waffleshots, mostly (and unapologetically) because we want that melty marshmallow, but we’re hoping they make their way to the East Coast. Until then, we can dream.
