1. What To Make: Berry Brownies
Elevate your brownie game with an easy, fruity surprise. Begin with your favorite brownie recipe (a mix is fine if you’re short on time) and prepare according to the instructions. To the mix, add a jar of strawberry or raspberry preserves, then bake as usual. To amp up the flavor even more, sprinkle chopped strawberries or whole raspberries over the top of the brownie batter before baking. They’ll add a bit more moisture so your brownies will be chocolate-berry perfection. [Swirled]
2. Life Hack Of The Day: Remote Control Edition
If you can’t remember the last time you cleaned your remote, do it now. Use an old toothbrush to brush away any errant crumbs that are caught in between the buttons. Then using a cotton swab dipped in a mix of water and rubbing alcohol swipe over the entire remote, concentrating on any stubborn stains. Replace the batteries if necessary and you’re good to go!
3. Workout Of The Week: Push-Ups
If you need a refresher course in this core exercise — we’ve got you covered. Start in a high plank position with your core engaged and your wrists, elbows and shoulders all stacked on top of one another. Slowly bend your elbows and lower your torso toward the floor at a slow 3-2-1 count, but don’t let your body touch the floor. Then, push straight back up to the top of your plank. Now repeat for a full minute. If the full pushup form is too intense, you can lower your knees to the ground and proceed from there. No judgment here! [Swirled]
4. R&R: Cucumber Yogurt Mask
Soothe and refresh your skin with a quick DIY mask. Roughly chop a small cucumber, combine with a few teaspoons of plain yogurt and blend until a paste is formed. Smooth onto your face and relax for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off. The mask can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
5. Wild Card: Kellogg’s NYC
If you find yourself craving a bowl of cereal in New York City this weekend, you’re in luck. Kellogg’s NYC — the cereal wonderland — is celebrating its 3rd birthday with a party at their Union Square location as well as introducing their newest limited-edition cereal, Birthday Cake! If you can’t visit, you can still throw an epic party. Tap through for some cereal-ific recipes. [Kelloggs]
6. Dream Destination: Bryce Canyon, Utah
Bryce Canyon is quieter and feels more approachable than the Grand Canyon but offers similar sweeping canyon views. Because it’s close to Grand Canyon, Zion, Arches and Canyonlands national parks, you can tack on a trip without driving too far out of the way. And, if you want to make a weekend trip out of it, Bryce Canyon is only four hours from Salt Lake City. Tap through for more on this spectacular locale. [Swirled]
