This Japanese Travel Agency Photographs Trips For Stuffed Animals

@unagitravel

You know all those jokes about how the travel agency industry is dead? Well, the joke’s on those out-of-the-loop fools, because it is someone’s legitimate job to plan and document the travels of stuffed animals in Japan.

Ummm, can you say wackiest dream job ever?

Before you ask, yes this is an actual business enterprise. Unagi Travel is a Japanese travel agency for stuffed animals. Its mission statement: You can send your treasured teddy bear to Tokyo and watch its adventures unfold live on Facebook and Twitter.

It’s $50 (plus shipping costs) for the day “tour” of Tokyo or Fukuyama. You’re guaranteed a sunny day for the best photo ops, and your favorite four-year-old pretend friend will hang out in the agency’s office for a couple weeks to make sure you get your money’s worth.

While Unagi Travel promises to take good care of your stuffed animal, it’ll reimburse you up to $100 if it gets lost while out on the town. So unless the physical embodiment of your childhood memories are the equivalent of hundred bucks, perhaps don’t send your most-loved toy.

But can you imagine if your job description included creating itineraries to best display Beanie Babies’ travels through your city? Because honestly, we’re ready to sign up to lead stuffed animal tour time right here at home for our next side hustle. Hit us up, Unagi Travel. We wanna join the team.
