Uber Launches Speedboat Service To Take You Where You Want To Go

CNBC

If you live in a city, chances are you’ve taken an Uber. The concept is genius — an app that lets you request a car, get an estimated trip duration and at times, receive a reduced price for your trip. Now, Uber is stepping up its game to bring you a speedboat service. Yep, cars are so yesterday.

The Street reports that Uber Technologies tested the project in Miami and Istanbul, and subsequently launched it in Croatia. You can call a speedboat for up to 12 people in Croatian cities like Split, Dubrovnik and Hvar.

As you can imagine, the service is pricey. To get eight people from Hvar to Split, which is about 33 miles, you’ll have to shell out on average $400. You can also rent a speedboat for half- or full-day trips. Basically, you can have your own private tour of the beautiful Croatian islands.

Well, guys, this is wild. We’d love to see Uber speedboats over here in the U.S. In due time, we suppose.
