Oh, Canada, our dear, sweet neighbors to the north. We love you. And so does Travel and Leisure. The publication named the entire Great White North its travel destination of 2017.

During the country’s 150th year of independence, Banff National Park blew up our Instagram feeds, along with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handsome face marching in Pride parades and welcoming refugees from around the world. Travel and Leisure notes in its announcement that Canada has “become a source of stability and hope in a time when the news is mostly dominated by crisis and political rhetoric.” Yes, we all want to be where the Canadians are.

The gigantic country (it’s significantly bigger than the entire U.S.) is home to destination-worthy cities such as Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, as well as some of the most pristine wilderness in the world. Think northern lights, polar bears, peaceful canoe trips and the chance to wander European-esque cities for a dose of the metropolitan.

Time to plan a trip up north, eh?
