Torst Is A Craft Beer Oasis With A Hidden Restaurant

[tw-divider]The Scoop[/tw-divider]

  • Torst is the nerdy and expansive beer bar (beer library, even) from renowned Danish brewer Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø and Daniel Burns, an alum of Noma in Copenhagen and the Momofuku test kitchen
  • The bar carries 21 beers on tap at a time as well as a unique selection of bottles and cans. Much of the selection at Torst is not available anywhere else in the US
  • Jarnit-Bjergsø’s own beer, from his brewery Evil Twin, is featured prominently at Torst, with names like Even More Jesus, Yin, Yang, and Low Life. In his spare time, Jarnit-Bjergsø has brewed beer for many of the best restaurants in the world including Noma, Eleven Madison Park, and Momofuku Ko

About that space in the back: that’s the chef’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Months after opening Torst, Burns opened Luksus, a Scandinavian concept with a $125 seasonal tasting menu that’s ideally designed to be paired with beer from the bar (an extra $55)
