You Can Create Your Own Cocktail Potions At This Harry Potter-Style Bar In London
It might sound too good to be true, but there’s a Harry Potter-style immersive cocktail experience in London where you get to brew potions and geek out over molecular mixology with magic wands in hand. While The Cauldron is not actually affiliated with J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, this pub is all kinds of magical.
The inventors of The Cauldron use science and technology to bring fantasy books to life with an entire immersive cocktail-making experience.
Guests dress up in robes (because why not) and get to play with their own magic wands. Everyone gets an actual cauldron to mix their own drinks in — complete with dry ice — so you get the full effect of brewing up a potion while frozen carbon dioxide billows out of the pot. Each guest gets three drinks during the experience, including two interactive potions.
You’ll see some other advanced cocktail techniques at The Cauldron, too, like setting things on fire and making things foam. The cocktails use ingredients like elderflower, lavender and a flower that’s native to Indonesia, which is said to have its own magical powers.
The pub also grows its own herbs to use in the cocktails. The entire immersive experience costs £29.99, which is about $40, and you can take home your own wand for an additional £20 (or approximately $28).
The Cauldron has also collaborated with London’s Fourpure Brewing Co. to create a craft beer that uses ingredients central to witchcraft, according to the pub’s site. The beer is called Four Cauldrons, with core ingredients including coriander, ginger and vanilla, and you’ll be able to pour your own with the touch of your wand. Get ready for some serious magic.
