Sugarfish: Sushi in Its Purest Form
[tw-divider]The Scoop[/tw-divider]
- The revered and highly respected sushi chef Kazunori Nozawa (Sugarfish, Nozawa Bar, and KazuNori), introduces the holy grail of traditional Japanese sushi to New Yorkers with the Flatiron addition of Sugarfish. Chef Nozawa’s commitment to serving only the freshest and finest fish began with his first venture, LA’s Sushi Nozawa, which has served as the ultimate sushi standard for decades
- Sugarfish honors sushi in its purest form, putting the focus on hand-selecting each piece of fish — through chef Nozawa’s longstanding relationships with the world’s top seafood purveyors — and pairing with perfectly seasoned sushi rice and housemade soy sauce and ponzu
- Chef Nozawa’s “trust-me” omakase-style cuisine keeps loyal fans on their toes. The fish is sustainably sourced and the menu remains simplistic and reasonably priced

Sugarfish has set itself apart from the rest of the sushi world in many ways. In order to maximize efficiency at the restaurant, chefs aren’t visible behind the bar. Instead, the sushi-making only takes place in the kitchen. The restaurant does not take reservations.
