Starbucks Is Adding Ice Cream To Its Menu With The Affogato

Affogatos — the beautiful dessert that happens when you “drown” scoops of ice cream in hot espresso — will join the menu at more than 100 Starbucks locations this month.

Beginning this week, affogatos will be served at select locations of Reserve Bar, the company’s more upscale coffee concepts, in Los Angeles, Boston, and DC. Options will include the $6 classic affogato to the $8.50 cold brew malt, featuring cold brew, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate bitters.

At 100 Starbucks locations in Orange County, California, the chain will also test a more affordable affogato range, the priciest of which will be a $6.40 version of the cold brew malt. At the Starbucks Roastery in Seattle, the affogato has been on the menu since June 2016, where it has become one of the most popular menu items. If testing goes well, expect to see the affogato available at even more Starbucks locations across the US.
