This Cocktail Is Stirred By Sound Waves And It’s Pretty Amazing

@columbiaroom

Cocktails have reached a new frontier thanks to the innovative spirit mavens at Washington D.C.’s Columbia Room. We’ve reached a point in the world of mixology where a significant amount of work goes into planning a cocktail before it’s even crafted.

At the Columbia Room, the bartenders are taking advantage of a concept called cymatics, where specific vibrations create or manifest into physical forms. By using a meditation or singing bowl, the sound waves stir this punch-style cocktail together. Columbia Room’s sound-stirred cocktail is thought to be the first in this category of cocktail technology.

Check out the video below of the magical libation:

The cocktail is presented in a large bowl and stirred on the outer surface. The vibrations move the drink and swirl whatever is inside of the vessel.

Singing bowls are used as a soothing tool for music therapists and sound healers, so you know you’re about to be relaxed AF while you’re drinking this punch.
