This Bangkok Hotel Gives You The Ultimate Prison Experience

@khatiew

Have you ever wanted to know what it’s like to live as a criminal behind bars? If your answer to that is hard pass, hear us out. This Bangkok hotel offers a prison-themed experience without all of the scary stuff that comes with being actually imprisoned. If you’re in Bangkok and looking to stay somewhere different, you have to check out Sook Station.

The hotel follows what its website considers to be “typical prison protocol” right from the beginning of your stay. Upon arrival, you’ll get a mugshot, black and white-striped “uniforms” (pajamas) and be assigned a number designated for your stay. You have to use your number to get in and out of your room instead of a traditional key.

As for the rooms, you can bet they stay on theme. Black and white curtains, as well as iron bars, could make you feel slightly uncomfortable if the thought of being locked up scares you. If you’re willing to go along with the storyline sans fear, you’ll be fine.

The weirdest part about the hotel? Guests are issued a lights-out curfew every night, and some guests share a communal bathroom, which is dimly lit for that eerie effect.

Don’t worry about not having fun here, though. The hotel also offers fun amenities like a rooftop hot tub, a complimentary breakfast and coffee bar, and even a co-working space. A stay in the hotel starts at $54 per night.

We’re not sure how many people can say that prisons are their “thing,” but we can say that this hotel will give you an experience unlike any other. If you’re up for a little adventure, spend a night or two in Sook Station. Doing time has never felt so intriguing.
