Mars Is Releasing Snickers Protein Bars
If calories, sugar and saturated fat didn’t matter, you better believe we’d take down a Snickers bar. But life isn’t fair, and calories, sugar and saturated fat do matter. That said, Mars just came to our rescue. The candy company is releasing a line of protein candy bars, including — yes — a protein Snickers bar.
Popsugar reports that the bar packs in 18 to 19 grams of protein while maintaining relatively low sugar content at 18.6 grams, compared to a regular Snickers bar, which has 27 grams of sugar. The bar comes in at just under 200 calories.
As if that’s not exciting enough, Mars is also releasing Milky Way, Bounty and Mars protein bars, which also have 18 to 19 grams of protein and are under 200 calories, to complete the line.
The bars are currently only available in the U.K., but we’re hoping that they make their way across the pond as soon as possible.
Obviously, we can’t say the bars will be solid meal replacements, but if you want a candy bar without feeling like garbage, this might just be the way to go.
