This Seashell-Shaped Airbnb Should Be On Every Beach Lover’s Bucket List
Airbnb is notorious for providing great alternatives to a pricey hotel stay. Every other day, there’s a new affordable accommodation that makes us want to jump on a plane. There’s one property though that really takes the cake. The house, formally known as Casa Caracol, is a gorgeous seashell-shaped Airbnb that looks too good to be true. (Anyone imagining The Little Mermaid coming to life right now?) The best part: it’s only $308 a night.
Located in Isla Mujeres, an island off Cancun, Mexico, Casa Caracol is situated in a residential area on the rocky north side of the island 15 minutes away from the beaches. The sandy shores are accessible by golf carts, which cost $45 a day to rent.
The house has two bedrooms and sleeps four. Amenities include:
- King beds
- A private pool
- Free wifi and satellite TV
- Full kitchen
- Parking space for your golf cart
- Air conditioning (every room has a remote-controlled air conditioner)
- Towels, linens and soap
- Maid service twice a week
Here’s how you can make this dream vacation a reality:
Book a round trip flight (flights range from $300 to $500) to Cancun. Contact the house’s Airbnb host to make arrangements for transportation from the airport.
You’ll take a short ferry from Puerto Juarez, which is in downtown Cancun, or from Playa Tortugas, which is in the Cancun hotel district. Raquel and Eduardo Ocampo, the owners of the house, will pick you up from the ferry and take you to their property. They can also arrange for your golf cart rental.
You’ll be free to explore the island, lay by the pool, barbecue and just enjoy yourself. Bonus: the owners are right across the street and are available to help you with anything you need.
So, guys, when are we going?
