This Italian Prince Is Making Pasta From Scratch In His LA Food Truck
Get ready to transport your taste buds straight to Italy.
The Prince of Venice food truck, a mobile eatery in Los Angeles, makes artisanal pasta from scratch and serves it to any patrons seeking an authentic Italian food experience.
The best part? The pasta is served by an actual prince. The concept for this food truck comes from the Prince of Venice himself, Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, who is the son of the last reigning king of Italy.
The menu aboard the truck is 100 percent authentic, including dishes like Conchiglie alla Norma, Bucatini all’ Amatriciana and Maccheroni alla Carbonara. You’ll also find some hybrid menu items, like the Pasta al Pollo and Curry, which has a sauce that combines the best of both yellow curry and creamy alfredo.
The prices of the pasta menu range from $10 to $20, so it’s on the steeper side as far as food trucks go, but you’re paying for the truly homemade pasta experience. In addition to pasta, you’ll also find jars of homemade sauce, packages of pasta, salads and cannolis.
The Prince of Venice food truck sources ingredients from local Southern California farms with a focus on organic produce, free-range meat and cage-free eggs. The rest of the ingredients are sourced directly from Italy.
Filiberto says his food truck is possibly the first fresh handmade pasta truck in Los Angeles and potentially the only one of its kind so far.
