We’ve all heard of white noise, which we know helps some people sleep by emitting consistent sound throughout the night. But according to a new small study, pink noise, which is a more natural, fluid sound, may be more effective in memory recall and deep sleep. Basically, pink noise provides great sleep.

The study, which was published in Frontiers in Human Science, had 13 adults stay two nights in a sleep lab. One night, they were listening to pink noise through headphones. After both nights, assessments showed a spike in memory recall and proved the participants reached deeper sleep on the night they listened to pink noise.

That’s a pretty big deal.

Could pink noise lead to the best sleep of your life? Science says yes, and we’re about it. Try it out by listening to a Youtube clip like the one above or downloading the Pink Noise app on both iTunes and Google Play.
