Sure, everyone’s got a favorite food. Imagine though if there were an entire restaurant dedicated to your fave ingredient or dish. Well, there are eateries that hone in on cult foods that do just that. And we’re not talking about a pizza place or your local ice cream shop. More like entire restaurants centered around deliciousness like Nutella, bacon and mac and cheese. The one-food restaurants below take their menus to the extreme. But hey, if you’ve got a culinary obsession, chances are we’ve got the spot for you.

1. Avocaderia, New York City, United States

Avocado lovers, this one’s for you. The first-ever avocado-only restaurant popped up in NYC in the spring of 2017. And, within three hours of its debut, the establishment ran out of its signature food. The menu includes a wide variety of avocado toasts, salads and guacamole. Avocaderia aims to appeal to the nutrition-conscious with “healthy” options, as well as foodies with “tasty” choices. Bonus: the spot only uses organic avos.

2. Nuts-About-Tella, Brunswick East, Australia

Nutella pizza. Nutella donuts. Nutella burgers. Nutella ice cream. Seriously, what could be better? We’re into the hazelnut spread. The restaurant says it’s paving the way for a “new age of desserts” that are “inspired by timeless Italian renaissance art.” To give you a taste of what you can expect (pun intended), sweet treats are on offer like “The Creation of Adam” β€” a pizza with Nutella, covered with smashed Ferraro Roche chocolate, freshly sliced strawerries and banana, drizzled with caramel and dusted with icing surgar.

3. BarBacon, New York City, United States

Doesn’t bacon make everything better? Whether a burger, salad or grilled cheese, it’s just the perfect addition. The name BarBacon conveys exactly what you can expect from the restaurant’s menu. The selection of apps, main courses and sides is pretty comprehensive. Expect classics like the BLT, but you’ll also find delicious creations with the meat like tacos, mac and cheese and lobster rolls.

4. The Meatball Shop, New York City, United States

Remember “choose your own adventure” books? Well, that’s exactly what this restaurant does, but with meatballs. First select your “ball,” which can be beef, pork, chicken, veggie or the special on offer. Pick a sauce from a list of options that includes classic tomato, mushroom gravy and pesto. Optionally, top it off with a fried egg. Enjoy the meatball creation on its own, or make it into a slider or hero. Yum. With choices like this, you won’t even miss the pasta.

SO MUCH CHEESE. This spot is basically our version of heaven. It has every twist on mac and cheese that you can imagine. There’s a classic option, but we’re more into concoctions like the Cheeseburger Mac (ground Angus beef, cheddar and American cheese) and the Mayan Chipotle (chicken diablo, chihuahua cheese and green onions). If you’re into mushrooms, lobster or duck, Macbar has you covered. These delicious creations made with artisanal cheese and organic ingredients are over-the-top.

Po-tay-to, po-tah-to, does it really matter? Not here it doesn’t. The dishes are far more interesting than the restaurant’s concept suggests. Create your own dish using bases like smashed red skins, a full Idaho potato, sweet potato crinkle fries or mashed potatoes. Add meats, veggies and cheese from a wide range of toppings. Then get saucy! Roasted pepper aioli, chipotle ketchup and mushroom gravy are just some of the options. The menu also features “smash hits” like the Smash-topia (smashed red skins, oven roasted chicken, scallions, red onions, fresh garlic, cilantro, sharp cheddar cheese, and an asiago-parmesan blend with roasted pepper aioli). Potatopia won’t disappoint.

Maaa, the meatloaf! If you’re into this sort of comfort food, this is your spot. The Meatloaf Bakery is the home of the original meatloaf cupcake. Its “Mother Loaf” (beef, pork and veal blended with onions, ketchup and a special mix of seasonings and herbs) was featured on the Food Network. A turkey option is also on offer. You can even get meatloaf delivered to your home. An oven or microwave is all it takes to make your meatloaf dreams a reality.

8. Rice To Riches, New York City, United States

Hello, sweetness! Rice To Riches serves up every version of rice pudding you can imagine. Don’t set your expectations low on this one, the menu is anything, but basic. Expect flavors like cheesecake, coconut coma, French toast and rocky road. There are 20 variations to choose from. A single serving will cost you $7, which is nothing if your looking for a quick sugar fix that’s not your standard ice cream.

Fries don’t have to be a side dish, and Pommes Frites proves they can be the main attraction. Don’t expect any frills here, the menu gets right to the point. Choose your size of fries and then pick your sauce from an insanely wide range of options. There are tons of twists on mayo, like wasabi, sun-dried tomato and pesto. If you’re feeling more adventurous, go for the TLC (tequila, lime and chipotle) or Bordeaux wine, figs and sage. And, at the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong with going for classic ketchup.

If you’re looking for a fruity fix, MADD is for you. Expect tons of mango desserts, puddings and snacks. Think mousses, crumbles, panna cotta and pavlova. The eatery’s mission is to serve “insanely addictive snacks and desserts [that are] intended to blow your mind but not your waistline”. Sounds like a pretty good deal to us. Ralph Monthienvichienchai, the mastermind behind the concept restaurant, said, “My parents wanted me to do a PhD but I told them to put that idea on hold… This is entirely my thing. Well, me and my friends.”

11. Egg Shop, New York City, United States

What an egg-celent idea. While the cafΓ© launched in dedication to “to the art of an egg sandwich,” its menu is wide-ranging. It’s also not just a breakfast spot. Standout starters include a yolk-stuffed burrata with crispy chickpeas, tomato agrodolce and truffle toast, a spaghettini squash mushroom carbonara with egg yolk and eggs caviar. As for mains, there are choices like a burger topped with a sunny side up egg, as you would expect. Less traditional options include creations with egg like udon, spicy fried chicken and Brussel sprouts.

You can’t go wrong with classic Rice Krispie treats and that’s only what you’ll find at Treat House, but in a wide range of varieties. The sweet spot is “on a mission to spark joy in the world, one hand-made sweet treat at a time.” Its founders want you to “feel like a kid, again.” There are more than 10 choices on the menu. There’s chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream, chocolate pretzel and coconut flavors, just to name a few. We’re skeptical of the cotton candy gummy bear creation, but hey, we’re all about getting adventurous. Oh, and these desserts aren’t like the blobs you created when you were younger. They’re oh so pretty.

13. The Pickle Guys, New York City

Okay, we get it. Pickles are a love-hate food. But even if they’re not your thing, you have to admire what The Pickle Guys is doing with their shop dedicated to all things pickles. Seriously, you can’t imagine a wider variety to choose from. You’ll find everything from sour pickles and hot pickles to horseradish pickles. There are “other pickled goodies” like hot dog relish, baby carrots, string beans, turnips and pineapple. And if you really love pickles that much, you may want to wash all the salty deliciousness down with some pickle juice. We’re not going to lie, we’re not sure how a spot like this stays in business, but we’re all for it.
