Life Hack Of The Day: Efficiency Edition

When possible, group your tasks so that you’re working on similar things together. For instance, set a block of time for meetings/phone calls, an hour for emails, etc. Grouping them together is more efficient and helps you avoid getting too burnt out.

Health

Quench your thirst and hydrate naturally with a homemade electrolyte drink. Electrolytes come from a variety of minerals, and the combination of water, salt, lemon and lime juice helps your body maintain a healthy fluid balance and play a role in nerve and muscle function, among many other things. The best part is that it’s all done without a ton of sugar. [Swirled]

Career + Finance + Tech

Try scheduling a meeting with them to learn their fears, and to explain that you would like to have a better working relationship with each other. Counter their fears and validate their positive qualities to help ease the tension. When you spend the majority of your day with your co-workers, you want to be on the same page as much as possible. Food + Drink

Summer’s about to get even sweeter. Target is introducing sangria to their existing California Roots line of wine — and it’s only $5. Stop it. Pour the sangria over some ice and add a few fresh berries (and maybe a sprig of mint) and you’ll be catching the summer vibes in no time. Summer can’t get here soon enough. [The Daily Meal]

Recipe of the Day: We love a foodie mash-up and club sandwich pasta salad takes two of our faves and somehow makes them even better. The salad is a combination of farfalle pasta, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, scallions and barbecue-spiked ranch dressing. The salad is ready to go once the pasta is cooked and drained and is best served the same day so the lettuce doesn’t wilt too much. [Averie Cooks]

A quick tip from the Swirled Community: When I make a pasta salad, I wash and cut my broccoli, then when my pasta is ready to drain, I drop the broccoli in with the pasta and stir around for a minute to slightly cook it. Then I drain and rinse both the pasta and broccoli with cold water. This makes the broccoli a BEAUTIFUL deep green but doesn’t cook it completely. – Kimberly W.

Travel

The ultimate hiking trip through the Rockies is a breathtaking adventure exploring three national parks in the U.S. and Canada — Yellowstone, Glacier and Banff. In Yellowstone, you’ll be able to see Old Faithful and climb to the top of Avalanche Peak, in Glacier hike the Highline Trail along the famous Going-to-the-Sun-Road and finish in Banff on one of several trails including Sentinel Pass.
