In Honor Of National Pizza Day Here’s Proof That Americans Have No Self-Control With Cheese
It’s no secret Americans have a love for pizza that runs pretty deep.
It’s truly a part of our DNA. And, in honor of National Pizza Day, it’s important to know the facts about our favorite cheesy food.
Researchers at NationalToday.com surveyed 1,000 people about their pizza-eating habits. Their findings confirm it’s true that Americans barely have any self-control when pizza is in the picture. In fact, only two percent of Americans dislike pizza and one in three Americans eat pizza at least once a week. Chances are, that two percent has to be people who are lactose-intolerant or just weird (no offense).
The survey also found that 65 percent of Americans normally eat more than three slices of pizza in one sitting. Twenty-two percent claim they can eat an entire pie by themselves in one sitting. Hey, we believe it.
When it comes to pizza toppings, it’s no surprise that over 80 percent prefer cheese. The least popular topping is pineapple. Sorry, Hawaiian pizza fans.
Here’s a ranking of popular pizza brands from most popular to least popular:
- Pizza Hut
- Papa John’s
- Domino’s
- Papa Murphy’s
- Little Caesar’s
In the world of America’s fave fast food, pizza ranks second after burgers, but 43 percent say they prefer pizza over a burger, so it’s a close call.
You might also be curious to know that three percent of Americans would rather eat pizza than have a boyfriend or girlfriend, and we get the logic. You can always count on pizza to make you happy.
