It’s National Drink Wine Day, Y’all And Stats Prove Even Big Boys Cry

Happy National Drink Wine Day, y’all! In honor of the occasion, it’s time to reflect on just how Americans feel about their vino.

The site that celebrates all of the fun quirky holidays, NationalToday.com, conducted a survey of 1,000 Americans and found that men are twice as likely as women to cry when they drink wine. (Only two percent of women say they shed tears when they hit the bottle.) So don’t even try to tell us it’s women who get emotional when there’s alcohol involved.

When it comes to taking a bottle of wine to the face, it looks like women have men beat. About 40 percent of women have finished a bottle of wine by themselves — with six percent of women saying that they down an entire bottle every time they drink — while thirty-three percent of men say they’ve polished off full bottles by themselves.

When it comes to only drinking the best of the best, men take the cake. They’re twelve times more likely than women to be wine snobs, according to the survey.

Anyway, the bottom line? Americans love their wine. Sometimes you just need a glass…or two…or three. Oh, and there’s nothing wrong with a good cry, sometimes you just gotta let it out.
