San Francisco Ranks Number One As The Most LGBTQ-Friendly City In The World

San Francisco, California, is known for a lot of things. You have the bay, “Full House,” the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, the beautiful Victorian houses, earthquakes, Alcatraz, Ghiradelli chocolate, amazing seafood, parks, theatre, an amazing arts scene and the bizarre summer fog. And now, we have another reason to love San Francisco even more.

The popular West Coast city was just voted the “Most Welcoming City” of 2017 in a new LGBTQ travel poll conducted by GayCities.com. The popular LGBTQ community-driven city guide and travel website polled more than 48,000 of its reader’s on their favorite destinations and travel icons. The poll covered 13 different categories ranging from the city with the best singles scene to the best “Travel Instagrammer.”

The president and CEO of the San Francisco Travel Association also won an award for being a “Travel Innovator” along with his commitment to welcoming LGBTQ travelers to the northern California coastal city.

Other winners of the “Most Welcoming City” include New Orleans (the runner-up), followed by New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
