You Can Get Paid To Eat Out Almost Every Day. Here’s How

@eatingnyc
There are a number of food bloggers hitting Instagram with gorgeous photos of their meals, and we are constantly captivated. Guess what? You can get paid to chronicle your eating adventures too even if you don’t have a loyal following. Michelin announced a job opportunity for you to do just that.
So what does the job of “guide inspector” entail? Essentially, you would live out the ultimate foodie’s dream by traveling all over the world and eating out. You’d be responsible for anonymously reviewing a minimum of 275 restaurants a year. If you’re a homebody, forget about applying because you’d be traveling three weeks each month.
You’d have to write a detailed report of each meal and take professional photos (ugh, too much effort, right? Just kidding, this sounds like heaven). Then you’d work with the social media manager to promote your work. Bonus: you can adopt a weird pseudonym since you have to remain anonymous (that’s a huge part of being a part of the Michelin team).
So, the qualifications must be a breeze, right? Have a love of food and a love of travel? Wrong.
The posting lists 13 qualifications each candidate must meet to be considered, including:
1. A bachelor’s degree in food studies, culinary or hotel management
2. 10+ years experience in hotel, restaurant or a related field
3. Extensive international knowledge of dishes, ingredients and techniques
4. Formal wine studies or work as a sommelier
Okay, so… maybe it’s not the easiest job to snag. We so don’t have the qualifications and that breaks our heart. But there’s someone out there that would be perfect for this job. If you’ve got all the necessary experience and you’re into this gig, Michelin is waiting for you. Apply away!
