A New York City cafe is giving a whole new meaning to a personalized sandwich. Make Sandwich boasts a menu of signature and build-your-own sandwich options, with a focus on high-quality meats, veggies and cheeses. The coolest part? You can get your name lasered into the bread.

The high-tech sandwich offering, appropriately called “The Laser Sandwich,” is a collaboration between Make Sandwich and the entertainment company A Razor, A Shiny Knife.

How the magic happens involves taking high-end fabrication technology that’s been used to build things like prototypes and custom pieces of equipment and applying the techniques to food.

You can order personalized bread for any kind of party or as a weirdly awesome gift. At the New York City shop, they take your sandwich, “laser etch” it and then let you pick what you want to go inside. You’ll find sandwich combos like Steak and Salsa Verde, Turkey and Gouda, Pork and Pickles, Chicken and Chorizo, Spinach and Artichoke and Sausage, Egg and Cheese. The sandwiches themselves range from $10 to $12.

What better way to show someone you care, than by giving them a sandwich with their name written on it (literally). It looks like the sandwich-stealing dilemma has finally been solved.
