  • Housed in a former auto body shop, Lilia in Williamsburg boasts an incredibly skilled chef, Missy Robbins, who brought a Michelin star to each location of A Voce in New York City during her tenure
  • There are no misses on the rustic Italian menu, but fans of Robbins’ cooking know that she was born to make pasta (rigatoni diavola, malfadini, gnocchi, ravioli, you name it) so keep your eye on the prize
  • For a more low-key meal, and a smaller hit on your wallet, check out Lilia Caffe, the authentic Italian cafe next door. There’s espresso and pastries in the morning, sandwiches and gelato by the afternoon, and small bites in the evening

Before she came to New York, Missy Robbins was the executive chef at Spiaggia in Chicago, where her food was regularly enjoyed by Barack and Michelle Obama. Robbins then took over both locations of A Voce in Manhattan, earning each restaurant its own Michelin star by 2010. Unfortunately, by design, Michelin stars can only belong to individual restaurants, not the chefs. It won’t be long before the Michelin Guide pays Robbins a call in her new home in Williamsburg
