Europe’s Favorite Grocery Store Is Opening In The U.S.

Everyone stop what you’re doing and listen up: A much-loved European grocery store chain is coming to the U.S. and we have no chill.

If you haven’t heard of Lidl, it’s time to learn. The chain is essentially the Trader Joe’s of Europe, so as you can imagine, food is cheap and high-quality. You can’t beat it. Popsugar reports that the store is heading to North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia to start its U.S. expansion.

So why is the chain so amazing? First, you save money — not only because the produce is cheap, but also because the staff lets you bag your own groceries. All of the fresh and frozen food is certified as sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) or the Aquaculture Stewardship Council.

There’s a fresh bakery in every store, meaning you can get a right-out-of-the-oven scone during your shop. Um, HELL yeah. The store also carries non-food products like fitness gear, toys and small kitchen supplies.

Another reason to love the store: it’s expected to add 5,000 jobs in the U.S. with its initial locations. Oh, and Lidl partners with charities to help fight world hunger.

Yep, we need this store in our lives. We’re happy to have you, Lidl.
