These Produce Lattes Cross The Line

@locals_corner

We’re all for recycling and making less waste, but is it really necessary to serve lattes in hollowed-out produce? Can’t we all agree on the convenience of a clean and simple to-go cup? We already saw an Australian cafe pouring lattes in avocado halves. What was meant to be a joke, caught on a little too quickly.

Now another Aussie spot, Locals Corner, is serving coffee out of a hollowed-out carrot and it’s just too much. There’s a reason coffee is served in ceramic mugs. The vessel your coffee comes in shouldn’t really be leaking its flavor into the drink. Carrot-flavored latte? Just. No. The Avolatte sparked an unfortunate trend of using produce as a vehicle for caffeine. Enough is enough.

Say hello to the carrot latte…
