Krispy Kreme Beer Is A Thing And It’ll Get You Pretty Buzzed

Beer and donut lovers have some common ground to be excited about. Two Tampa Bay breweries have partnered up to create a Krispy Kreme donut beer using actual donuts. It’ll be sold by the bottle and draft.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that two Florida breweries, Hidden Springs Ale Works and Arkane Aleworks, have started the brewing process with one batch of glazed donuts and another batch of cream-filled donuts. Each batch is made up of two-dozen donuts, which will result in a Russian Imperial Stout — usually dark in appearance with a high ABV and consisting of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt flavors.

The addition of the Krispy Kreme donuts will give a sweetness to the brew, which has a high ABV of 12.5 percent. According to the Tamp Bay Times, Hidden Springs founder Josh Garman said, the stouts will have a “roasty, chocolatey” flavor. When you take your first sip, glazed donuts should come through.

While Krispy Kreme isn’t directly behind the donut-inspired beer, it’s showing support through its fried sugary confections. The breweries will release the new Russian Imperial Stout next month, although the name of the beer is still TBD.
